"Cannabis Around the World" - (3/3) BRAZIL

from $15.00

I created these pieces to showcase the various ways in which cannabis is used around the world, and by including animals and motifs from each of these selected regions, I hope to effectively demonstrate both the unique differences that set each of these regions apart from one another as well as the many overlapping similarities. I want to show that, despite our many differences in appearance, gender, orientation, race, religion, nationality (and in this case, species), at the end of the day, cannabis use is something that we all have a shared interest in, and is something that has tremendous potential to bring people together in a way that few other substances, technologies, or even institutions that I have observed have the ability to do. I hope that these pieces will create a dialogue that will help to slowly, but surely, break down the stigmas that still surround cannabis use in many parts of the world to this very day.

ABOUT:

Featuring 3 animals native to the vast mountains and jungles of South America as they gather for an epic chill session; the Black Panther, the Maned Sloth, and the Andean Llama. On the left, we see the health-conscious Panther taking a more contemporary approach to consuming cannabis, using a blender to create a nutrient-dense super smoothie that will be sure to give him a fresh glow for weeks to come. Meanwhile, the steadfast smokers on the right side of the couch waste no time in blazing up with some top shelf flower in a common act of ritual friendship. As the Sloth reels from a smooth, heavy rip on the age-old classic ice bong, his camelid friend on the right rolls up a few spliffs for the session that is yet to come.
